Wow, I'm so thankful to hear that no one (including the pets!) were injured.

I would have had a heart attack. Hope your neighbors are all okay also.
I feel sorry for all those that have lost homes, pets, livestock and family .

Well, at this point we're good for rain. But, if it does what it did last year and doesn't rain again......we'll be in trouble again by August. One cutting a year for hay just doesn't get it for us. I'm praying that we keep getting a little rain at a time for the rest of the year. We've had enough of the drama, so the severe stuff can quit anytime.

Glad you, your hubby & critters stayed safe but sorry about your shed & trees. The after effects of a tornado are never fun to deal with and then you have the flooding on top of that. Hope everything gets back to normal for you soon.

Glad to hear/see that the damage was so little and only to objects. I can't imagine how devastating it must be to people that live in tornado alley -- build something up, have it ripped to shreds; build it up again... gets torn to shreds again...

So scary. Glad to hear you and all your 2- and 4-legged "family members" are in good shape.

My husband had been a tornado TV show junky for years, and we just read that 3 of the storm chasers who are in all the documentary-type shows on the Discovery Channel, Weather Channel, etc. were among those killed in this most recent storm. It's sort of sobering to realize that those shows aren't necessarily just entertainment, but people are really actually in harm's way. Not sure if it's worth it to put yourself in that kind of danger, but I suppose that's not for me to decide.

What's really hard to take is that the chasers that died were among the most safety conscious out there. They didn't try to get in the storms, their goal was dropping a pod in front and then getting out of the way. Tim Samaras developed a lot of the tools forecasters use today, and his goal was to keep gathering data to provide better lead times for people that would be affected by tornadoes. The severe weather research community lost some giants, for sure.

Glad everyone and all the critters are safe. Sorry that you lost that little barn, though it does appear that the framework is still mostly sound, so maybe all you'll need to do is replace a couple of the rafter boards and re-tin.
