I think that is protocol when it comes to the interstate.. A few years back a cattle trailer overturned in Omaha on the way to the packing plant, leaving several steerson the loose. They shot every one of them.

Public safety is No. 1. end. of. story. And you would be surprised how busy the interstate can be in the early morning. This owner is lucky they shot her horses nstead of someone hitting them and causing an accident...

just read the article. It says the horses had a few near misses with trucks! And also the officers did attempt to get the horses back into a pasture..

Not cars. But trucks. Lots of them.

Whenever I'm on the road at 2 a.m., for whatever reason, there are a lot of trucks where I go. Not as much trucks at 2 p.m.

Trucks travel at night because there is less traffic and fewer passenger vehicles on the road. My hubby is on the road at 2am as a truck driver and sees plenty of other trucks.
