Talking My horsey love story :)

when I started riding I was possibly the hardest to scare little girl In history. When I was 14, I was the hardest to scare/most advanced student (I'm a quick learner, LOL) and was given the new horses, or the severely problematic horses. One time, I got given this big, beautiful palomino quarter horse that had got into the habitof bolting, then dropping his head to the ground and yanking his rider off... Good times! After a few rides with me, he will never make that mistake again. Then came jitterbug... A 17 year old Arab gelding (some retard decided that he shouldn't be gelded till he was 12...) , green broke, used as a barrel horse but retired because everyone was terrified of his rearing, bucking, death to the human overlords butt. I got one foot in the saddle and he took of like a rocking horse, my father watching in horror on the sidelines. Then came rearing, then bolting, then trying to crush me against the rail. Then he tried squishing my instructor, then tried to do a random barrel run (which, oddly, he is really good at) then, finally, I (kinda) cooled him out, untacked, and proclaimed to the heavens my hate for that horse. This was all on top of the fact that if you girthed him up in the barn he stiffed, held his breath and fell down ON TOP of whatever poor soul happened to be near him. I rode him a few more times, and he never tried any of those shenanigans again. He was still bat sh!t crazy, but less so. I ended up buying him, and switching him to English. I dumped the cruel, chain curb bit, got tack that fit properly, and lowered the amount of feed he was getting. Combined with some good, solid training and much patience, BAM! He is still spirited, but I am now training him for dressage, and ride him daily. He loves bareback, and long trail rides :) so this goes to show, not all badly behaved horses are worthless. He is my horse, and I am his human. I would not trade him for anything. Congratulations to anyone who read all this, and thanks for listening! (or reading... ;) )
