Need Help Composing An Email

I've found the breeders and one of the previous owners of my mare over the internet, and I'd really like to email them to see if I can get any information or pictures of her. I'm just not well versed in writing formal(ish) emails. I've no idea how to start it off ... or ask for info or photos ... or if I should explain who I am ... any help would be really helpful!

Thank you for feeding us years of lies. Thank you for the wars you left us to fight. Thank you for the world you ruined overnight. But we'll be fine, yeah we'll be fine.

I think something short and sweet to the effect: I purchased (name) on (date) and understand you were the breeders (or former owners). I would like to learn more of her history and would appreciate any information you would be willing to provide such as photos, show records (or anything else specific you want). Please contact me at (address, etc.) if you wish to ask questions of me or require more information. Thank you.

Just the horse's registered name or 'request for information on (name)'

I've been contacted by several people who have bought horses I bred and raised. I'm always happy to hear from them, give them as much info as I can, and send them copies of pictures from when they were foals. I love getting updates from them too.
