Never ceases to amaze me!!

So I have a horse who lost his eye about a year ago. Been recovering well, etc.

Today we went on a trail ride with my friend. The horses were side by side just walking, when her horse started to drift toward my horse. Reily (my horse) started to drift away from her keeping the same distance between them. I didn't think much of it when my friend says, "That's amazing!" And I realized her horse was on Reily's blind side yet he still seemed to 'see' her to move away just as much as she moved towards him!!

I wasn't giving any indirect cues (leaning, reins, even looking) and there was no way he could have seen her at all. The only thing would be the sound.

But you all should have seen it, he drifted right in sync with her! They stayed the same 4 feet apart the entire time. Just amazing!! Thought I would share :)

just for funsies... a picture from the ride today

Great pic! I am assuming that is a corn field? Sorry, we don't have any of those here.

Yup it is!! It's great to get a good gallop in (as there usually aren't holes). I'm from the land of corn, so they are in plenty here hahaha

Haha! Seriously? That is a neat story though. And I can imagine they get a feel for the blind side.
