New horse!

I got my first horse, Wildfire, in November of 2010. I grew up in Chicago, IL and moved to the country in September of 2010. I always loved horses but growing up in the city there weren't really any opportunities to be around them. I did take lessons one summer but I couldn't afford them for long. Moving to where I am living now (Arkansas) was the best thing that ever happened to me, for many reasons. One big reason was that I got to pursue my dream of having horses. It was a dream come true to be blessed with ONE horse, and now I have 2 beauties in my life.
The story of how I got my new horse was that I had been wanting another and saving up but I was waiting for the right one. Wildfire has been boarded at a wonderful place for the past 2 years and my family and I are moving to a farm with 30 acres and once I get fencing up I will finally be able to have him with me. The owner of his boarding place texted me Wednesday night asking if I was interested in another gelding. I wound up seeing him and buying him the next day! He is getting along beautifully with Wildfire despite them both being dominant horses. I named my new horse Luka. He is an approximately 13 year old pinto. He wasn't broke until he was 8 or so but you wouldn't be able to tell. He is SO sweet, calm, sociable, well trained, etc. So much so that someone offered me $3,000 today for him minutes after meeting him. I only paid $200 for him which was a total steal! I wouldn't sell him or my other horse for anything tho. When I get an animal I get them for life.
My other horse, Wildfire, was abused before I got him and both him and Luka are so important to me.
I will try and post pics of Luka tonight, and of Wildfire if you want to see him too!

Welcome to the forum. So glad you were able to fulfill your dream. However, we have a saying here. "Without pictures, the horses don't exist." So don't let us down.

Welcome! :)
Sounds like you are living the dream!

We'd all love to see photos of Wildfire and Luka whenever you get the chance. They both sound like lovely horses.

Welcome to the forum! I love hearing stories about people who have waited year to get a horse and it finally happens for them. I hope this happens for me soon :)

Horses lend us the wings we lack;

Aww. Thank you for sharing. Looks as though your dreams have come true. What more could you want? Two lovely horses and a boyfriend who shares the dream.

You are SO blessed! I am in the same situation. I have always wanted to have horses on my own property but living in the city makes that impossible. I hope to eventually own my own again someday too! Both of your horses are absolutely STUNNING! Wildfire reminds me of my Uncle's horse Smokey. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE Luka's halter color! I am partial to blue. Congrats! Enjoy your two new horses!

.*. Let a horse whisper in your ear and breathe on your heart. You will never regret it. .*.
