New Horse, First Day Together

A bit late, but I spent my first day with Midna on the 31st of July. I had gone to look at her before I got her, and I checked on her the night that we moved her; but the 31st was the first time I really got to mess around with her and actually spend time together.

She was great, her personality is already beginning to come through. Seems to be pretty curious about things. Seems really sweet. She doesn't act as if she has had any time spent with her in a long time though.

I have gotten her mane totally brushed out and I am still working on her tail.

But enough of the blabbing and on to the pictures!

Definitely uses her height to her advantage (;

Showing off her pretty little socks (:

She looks very wise - something about her eyes makes me think that she's a bit of an old soul. Beautiful girl. She'll be stunning in a shiny summer coat with a nice layer of fat and muscle on her.

SammysMom She really is extremely sweet. Seems to be the type that thrives off of attention. Comes right up to the fence whenever she hears car doors.

Tracer Funny that you said that XD I thought the exact same thing. First day I went to see her something just kinda clicked and I knew she was special. Just has something about her.

Thanks for the compliments on her you guys, I've been itching to show my girl off. Gonna have to tell her about all the nice things ya'll have said about her (;

She looks like she will be a joy to share the trails with. Has the potential to be stunning with a healthy diet and coat. I would suggest leaving the halter off when shes not being worked with. You can see the sores its causing and there is always the risk of her hanging it on the something then causing herself harm when trying to free herself. Just a helpful tip.

Look forward to seeing more pics of her progression.

Roadyy The halter is off, the only reason the halter was on in these pictures is that she had just gotten off of the trailer not too long after I took these. Just kept it on her for her first afternoon there. The sores from the halter are from where her former owners kept it on for so long. After I took the halter off I put some good creme on it (the name of it is not coming to me at the moment XD) but the sores are now pretty much healed up. There is just one spot that seems to be irritating her a bit.

Thanks for the advice though. Feels good to be ahead of the game for once ;P

I'll be sure to post some more pictures, hopefully sometime this week. She is already beginning to show quite an improvement.
