Unhappy Not sure if I should sell or not *sigh*

Okay, ALL of you know about Sunny. He is a great horse in my opinion, very fast learner, just gets a little hot sometimes. But, He WILL not, EVER make it in the Barrel horse world. And thats REALLLLY my dream.

Mannny of my friends, have said to keep him.. If he were their horse even if he couldn't race, they would keep him.. "cuz they love him"

I love the crap outta this horse. I would be soo scared if I sold him, what would end up of him. I'd be soo worried. BUT, Also, I feel like I'm being held back..

I have been told by my dad PLENTY of times, if I sell sunny I can get a BARREL horse.. ( they are cheap atm- local gymkhana horses not the 15 flat second horses- if that makes since)

But I just don't know weather or not I should sell him. I have talked to my dad. And I have thought about it.. HARD for the past year or so.

I was thinking.. Maybe I should put an add up? Just seeing if anyone had any interest?

I would 100000% have to make sure they are the right fit. I would probably let them have a trial period as well. Because I would def want him back if it wasn't working out..

._. Sigh.. hmmm.. when did you guys KNOW if you should sell..

I just think.. If he isn't what I need then why keep him.. :(.. but I love him:(.. and I want to get into barrels>:( wish he was more suitable for it..

any advice guys?

Sometimes we have to come to a decision about what is more important to us - the partnership we currently have, or progressing. Nobody can tell you what you need to do, but don't feel that you need to settle for what you currently have. If your dream is to move forward, maybe you need a new partner to bring you to the next level. It is never easy to sell a horse that you have a bond with, but sometimes allowing your current horse to move on, will enable you to develop a bond with a new horse who suits you better.
boots and barrelbeginner like this.

Stop for a minute, open your mind, learn. You may not agree with what I say, I may not agree with what you say but we will both learn something new.
