I have ridden English my whole life but I do understand how slippery a oiled saddle can be. Give the saddle a good srubbing with saddle soap to take off the oil slick. They sell this stuff in tack shops called Saddle Tite. It is in container that looks like deodorant. It is a waxy substance that you rub onto the seat of the saddle that makes the leather less slippery. It basically keeps your butt firmly in the saddles. Hunterjumpers I know use it and I have for trail rides so I know it works. It won't stain your saddle or your clothing. Give it a try what can it hurt.
