I wish sooo bad that whatever the person did to the animal could be done to them. that is horrific, i cant even imagine how much pain that poor mare was in. im so glad that she lived and was able to make a full recovery, i didnt even realize she was a pally.

quarter horses.....simply the best

WOW. Her coat and skin were in such bad condition. I didn't even realize she was a palomino until I saw the last few pictures.

Some people are just dumb*sses. I love to give them a lime and transmission fuel bath to get rid of their "mange".

Wow, I also didn't know she was a palomino until the last pictures.
I wonder what the punishment was for the people who did that. Many years behind bars I hope...

WOW!!
Im with ya'all.....I scrolled down and went PALLY??!!??? Nooooooo way. And a gorgeous pally at that...would I have put her to sleep....I couldnt tell you. Sometimes I think you dont know until your're there. Congrats to them by the way.
Sadly I am not surprised that there are such dumb/ignorant people out there. Dana's owner for instance (yes the moron who has nicked off and I havent heard from him in a year with my baby because I used to get up him for using things like kero and sheep fat to treat open wounds) was prone to stupid things like that. Sadly I could imagine him trying something like that..... :(

Yes, I've seen this one. It's totally sick.... I just have no words. Well, many of us use "home remedies". I do - like cleaning eyes with the tea, etc. But how DUMB one should be to do something like that on ANY creature!

Well meaning people often make the worst mistakes. I'm sure the people that did that felt awful. What I wonder is why the rescue chose to keep her alive rather than end her suffering. Her vet bills ran several thousand dollars. How many horses could have been helped with that money? This is the problem I have with rescues. They used this horses story to raise money and stroke thier egos.

^^Because they care about them, just like if a person gets badly burned all over, you're gonna pay what it takes to fix it and keep your friend or that person alive, even though they are in pain. And isn't raising money a good thing?

Horses are not people. As thier stewards we should not make them suffer needlessly. I care about horses as well which is why I don't think I would have kept that horse suffering. Raising money is fine as long as they don't prolong a horses suffering to do it.
