Our first roundup on horseback
I needed to get some of the larger cattle from the summer pasture. I'd been feeding 3 horses and paying for riding lessons for going on 2 years so I thought I'd have the horses and kids earn their keep. It worked pretty well once the cattle learned that they were supposed to move away form the horses. It didn't help that the cattle lived across the fence from the horses all winter. Plan B, had we needed it, was to put the horses away and use the 4 wheelers. The horses were a lot more fun. On the left is my 20+/- yo Rocky Mountain, in the center is my niece on my Appaloosa mare, and on the right is my daughter on her paint x qh. RM likes to go so he was happy, niece and Appy were really into it too, daughter and her paint x qh were just there.
