Owners of Horses that are Buck Kneed

What is your experience?

I know someone who bought a horse that is significantly over at the knee. she is also limping, but I suspect something like an abscess as opposed to conformation related. Any who, for those out there who have/do own a horse that is over at the knee, did your horse remain sound? was it able to do strenuous riding or light riding only?

my friend has goals of doing competitive trail riding, but I have never owned a horse with this particular fault, so I don't know what the likely hood of a horse with this issue being able to do 4+ hours of riding at a decent clip and remain sound.

any info on the soundness of a horse like this would be appreciated.
