Ok, so this is what I'm getting from the site.

"We're a horse rescue! As in, all these poor, unfortunate animals really need homes. Expensive? You're a terrible person if you aren't willing to pay a good price for the poor things! Of course you could get a good horse for a lot less, but how would that make you feel? Bad? We hope so, because if you don't take these horses right now, we're going to auction them off!"

"What do you mean that rescues aren't suppose to sent horses to auction? Are you saying that if we 'saved' them from slaughter we should keep them out of it? Ha, of course not. That way we need you to pay extremely high prices from our wild, untamed animals. They ALL need to go, people. Smell that? Horse-burgers... Yum... That could be your future horse being eaten in Japan... So, here's the adoption forum. "

Sorry about that, everyone, I'm just really, REALLY angry at these people. Forgive me.

I don't know what prices are like in California, but where I live trained horses are at least $3K, and $4K or more for a potential show horse. At the rescue closest to me the adoption fee is $2K minimum. It's all relative.

Now, $4K+ does seem excessive!
