I was out on the town one evening when I ran into a friend of mine who I had always ridden with but hadn't seen in a while...a few drinks in we decided to go to the barn and go for a nice, late evening ride. I was dressed for going out, not for riding but figured it didn't much matter. While attempting to get on my 16.3 horse, I split my pants right down the middle. My friend just laughed...it didn't get bad until we ran into a few 'gentlemen' who followed us on quads commenting on my bare to the wind booty and the color of my thong...Wardrobe Malfunctions...Its the definintion of my life!

When I was younger, (not sure quite how young I was, but I'm guessing 7 or 8, only two or three years into lessons), I was trying to get the horse I was riding that night to pick up it's hoof, so I could clean it out. (duh- I'm not sure why I decided to explain that...) Well, the horse didn't want to. So I asked my instructor for help. She told me to grab his hoof by the feathers. I'm pretty sure I just stood there, staring, until she said, a little impatiently, "The feathers! The feathers!" She had just started teaching our class, and I guess she didn't realize I had no clue what she was talking about. So I bent over, starting grabbing at random places on the horse's leg until she came over and grabbed his feathers. I felt dumb. But it definitely taught me to make sure your instructor knows what you've learned already, otherwise you won't get much done.

That instructor also would try to get us to do the weirdest things for little kids- attempting to teach us to canter WAY before we should've, trying to make us side pass and leg yield...
She and her husband stuck around for years until just last year when they left. They were odd. But then again, most horse people are. :)

Lol, these are all pretty funny :)

I was holding a little pony for a kid to mount up and the pony decided his face itched. And of course he scratched on me lol. I was wearing a button up shirt and the pony's bridle caught at the bottom and and pulled out all of the buttons. Thankfuly I was wearing a cami though, but it was really funny :)

Another embarassing event happened to my friend. We were taping and photograping each other jumping and she lost her balance on the landing of a tiny little fence. I got a perfect shot of her, tounge out and face squished to the side, attacking the ground . It's hilarious, expecialy framed on a wall in the barn. :)

Years ago I had this guy I really really liked come watch me ride my horse. I was showing off going over jumps (think I was 18)...and was wearing regular jeans. I decided to take a nice big one going away from him....and just as I go over and reach into two point...RIIIIIIPPPPPPPP. Busted out the butt of my jeans!!!!

Every time we went out after that he would ask me to be sure not to wear my rip away clothing. So humiliating.

Loping a horse I was looking at buying from an Amish guy. Big stocky 16.2hh Shire cross. 4 years old and still a little awkward. Horse knew his way around the pasture, so I decided to test him and see if he was really listening. Started trotting, a few feet before the rail, reined him to the left. Horse kept going straight til he was right in front of the fence, then decided to make a sharp turnaround. Almost fell off, stayed on though....then the Amish man called over the fence, "I forgot to tell you--he doesn't know how to neck rein yet." Bahh!

oh man. A couple of years ago when we had alot more horses, me my 2 older sisters and one of their boyfriends were playing tag on horseback. We did this quite often. wellllll I'm riding One Sock, who i rode alot back in those day. Good horse (sometimes), high headed so he wore a tie down. Welllllllllllllll. He reared. I stuck on cause i was used to those sorta antics. But the tie down made him lose his balance and we flipped. I jump to the side and he lands on my leg. So i get up cause nothings broken. Or so I thought. Turns out mt bra and FAVORITE shirt had gotten stuck on the saddle horn and both ripped. So my girls were out there for everyone to see. Ugh. Sooooo embarassing.

My best friends and I (keep in mind my best friends are all teenage boys) were riding trails through my fields and the horse I was on was still kind of green to trails. She was acting pretty good until she saw a deer and then started bucking. Somehow or another, my bra and button up got stuck on the horn. I managed to jump off of her, but I was still stuck. I managed to get my bra unlatched, but I had to take my shirt off in front of all of those boys and ride back with my shirt hanging off of the horn of the saddle. Needless to say, I was getting a lot of attention on the way back.

Very embarrassing, and they still don't let me live it down.

Too funny. One time I was riding in a warmup area at a show and the biggest beetle I've ever seen flew and landed on me. I'm squeemish when it come to large bugs and I screamed bloody murder and tried to brush it off but I fell right off the horses back and my foot caught in the stirrup. My horse (who cares for me like a parent) stopped immediately and just stared at me like "seriously kid?"

Another time I was trying to rope a calf and I had the rope swinging like a pro but then I let go and I roped my own horses head. Guess it's time for some more lessons ^^

The best remedy for the soul is to sit on the back of a horse.

Talking

I had been riding for bout a year and I was dismounting. Not sure how I did it but somehow I ended up with my legs twisted up in each other and was hanging off the side of my horse. She was so good she just looked at me and I put my hands on the ground and un-tangled my legs while my trainer, his friend, my then-bf, and another girl were laughing there butt's off. To this day no one knows how I did that but I did it lol! =D

To see the wind's power, the rain's cleansing, and the sun's radiant life, one need only to look at the horse.

Two embarrassing ones:
First, I used to have a male trainer, one day I was doing a very heavy jumping lesson with him and it went great, I felt like my form over the fences was so much better, and I was feeling so great till I got off, went to the restroom and noticed the giant puddle of blood on my white breeches from my unexpected time of the month D:

Second, I was in a cross country clinic with Bruce Davidson, and we were practicing cantering up and extremely steep hill, which had one stride of land at the top and immediately sloped down [They were artificial hills that the BO had put in the fields for very advanced cross country] and around halfway up the hill the horse I was on stopped, backed all the way back down, and I fell off the side of him, but not all the way, I hung on, and struggled for a few minutes before I hurled my butt back in the saddle. Embarassing!
