Reviews on Cavalia Odysseo?

Soooo, while driving to my parents yesterday, I saw many billboards for the show cavalia odysseo coming to DC. Of course i needed to know what it was so while I was driving i made my boyfriend do some research. Well it looks really 50-60 horses in an "enchanted" forest haha. Well tickets are super expensive and we're trying to decide if its worth it since we are both saving for other things...but it would be an early Christmas present for me ha! He told me to ask on here if anyone's gone to it or if anyone's going! On living social there's a pretty good deal if you have 4 people.

So has anyone gone or is going? We're going to try and hold off a little on buying tickets to see if they go on sale any or any coupons come available.

Cavalia is made for the non horse person. So keep that in mind. I found it quite boring and the level of training on the horses, along with the poor riding, was not very captivating. I spent most of the ridden portions cringing, and during the in hand and liberty demos it was all things I had seen before at rodeos and other horse shows and demos.

IMO I would rather go watch a horse show, or a rodeo, and support local riders and the local economy than some overpriced zoo of mediocre riders.

They say money doesn't buy happiness -- well happiness doesn't buy horses!

Haha! That's interesting! I've been wondering if it's really worth the ticket price. I actually really want to see the Dixie stampede but it's pretty far from me. I've never been to a rodeo I should see if there are any near by. I bet my bf would enjoy a rodeo a lot too, he's seen the Dixie stampede and loved it

I've seen two Cavalia shows, since it all started in my province.
I absolutely loved both shows.

You have to put aside riding criticism, it's not a dressage competition: yes, I did see SOME rider errors, but I calling it "poor riding" is harsh.

It's a show with acrobats, amazing horses, costumes, music, landscapes, choregraphies. It's about being caught in the magic of it all, without focusing on petty details.

I think it's too expensive, but I went anyway and took my nieces along. We all enjoyed it very much.

I went to Cavalia last year - my mother got me the tickets for my birthday. I loved it, 'horse person' or no. I was impressed with it all. I'm also not the type to rip on little tiny errors that might be made - the acrobatics they do are impressive, and throwing in a bunch of horses makes it captivating. It's a wonderful show of talent, acrobatics, horses, etc. Can't really go wrong. The tickets ARE pricey, but I really enjoyed the show.

As for the 'poor riding' - like another user said, it's not a dressage show. They aren't showing off their proper riding skills, and that's not what you should be focusing on - Eole said it very well.

I went to Cavalia and loved it! I did enjoy it buy it was a little pricey for what they were doing, its meant to be like a circus with horses. The stunts were cool and costumes were beautiful, actual riding was average. If you've never seen it i do recommend going as its a nice experience. Personally the thing that annoyed me the most was that after every little stunt they did everyone would clap, it made it really hard to enjoy the show, but i guess you cant stop people clapping. I loved the bit when one person rode 6 horses over a jump all at once while standing on their backs. Overall a nice experience which i reckon was worth going to.

If I am not riding I'm thinking about horses, and if I am not thinking about horses I'm riding

SO, because of the government shut down, Cavalia is giving 50% off ticket prices until Oct 8! I think we're going to go now since its so much less! Just wanted to spread the word.
