It sounds like the honeymoon period is definitely over. In romantic relationships it often takes six to nine months before the buzz of newness wears off and both parties start acting more like themselves and true compatibility can be determined.

I've found that the same can be true for friendships. I could believe "Sally" held in her annoyance for seven months while still caught up in the newness and excitement of a new friendship (especially if she is naturally the sort of person who holds stuff in till she explodes all over the place).

From your description, you did nothing wrong, it just took "Sally" seven months before she let her crazy off leash.
