Shortage of hay in ND!

Just found out today that our hay supplier is out of hay and winter hasn't even hit yet. I checked with some other suppliers and they were out too. I feel what those in the southern states were going thru last year.

Is anyone else having these issues or know of a supplier in the SE part of ND?

In my home area of Wyoming, we've been buying hay trucked down from Alberta. $350/ton plus shipping. I'm a little resentful of our neighbors to the south since last year we shipped hundreds of tons at cost and they got a break on fuel tax. We called some who benefited from that deal and they were not as generous, to put it nicely.

Next time drought hits them and they call for hay, I'll offer to buy them out at rock bottom prices instead. The whole "jack me once..." deal.

boots, your right!

When hubby was hauling oil rig pieces to ND, he constantly had hay guys knocking on his truck door begging him to back haul hay to TX.

Well where I am still isn't doing amazing on hay. Don't know about everywhere else around here but that could be why they don't wanna sell very easy.
