Talking Talk about an empowering clinic lesson! So much to share!

Okay so most of you know I have three trainers, one at home who I board Oliver at their place. One who flies in from California and another from Lake Bay Wa, about an hour or so from where I live on Vashon.

Ollie and I have been to Beth's once beofre this last winter for a two day dressage clinic and we where able to squeeze in a another visit yesterday with my home trainer!

What a great day of riding it was! I am so beyond pleased with both my little horse and I!! I felt we had already come along way since last seeing bath in February and now feel so excited to work even hard for the next time we get the chance to haul out for another lesson or two!!

In our lesson I asked if we could really address two things. One being getting him to understand sitting and lifting his front end up more and using a lot more of his hind end to power forward and be lighter in my hands. The second matter to work on was our canter transitions. they needed to be finished, less head tossing and more of a softer transition for us.

Both these issues where not only addressed but really almost completely ridden though with out any issues by the end of the lesson!

The biggest thing I got from this lesson was realizing my huge lack of confidence to push myself to push my horse into a bigger working trot, or even canter but we really worked on the trot and getting to to engage from behind up into the contact.

Wow what an amazing feeling!! So happy!! Getting through that fear of mine really empowered me to ride like I mean it each ride after this lesson!!

I don't think I have ever had a lesson end on such a great note and being able to get So much work done! I could just go on and on but I actually already wrote all this down twice and both times my computer freaked out and shut down before being able to post it!! Third time is the charm right?!

So yesterday was our first ride after the lesson and I couldnt be happier with the outcome of the ride. I rode with my headphones in listening to music and that really helped tune my outside fears out! It was just Oliver and me. I could really focus on the rhythm, remember to work my my own position!! My chest muscles by my shoulders are sore from rolling the shoulders back and keeping my chest open and looking up!! Funny how that works huh!?

Today I went and picked up my hopeful new used dressage saddle, its not pretty but will do the the job and be better then my trainers 18'' Bates!!

I also found my future tall boot! The Tredstep Donatello for $300, that will be after the saddle!! I was so happy to put my foot in the boot and have it fit perfectly!! What a strange new feeling a tall boot is! I have been riding in half chaps or full chaps with paddock boots since day 1...17 years ago!!! (I am 21)

I couldn't be a happier horse mommy!!
Bummed that I again didn't get photos or video of this lesson like the last two with this trainer but a friend said next time she will tag along to do just that for both my trainer and I! Whoo!

Onto some cute pictures
So happy this summer has let us progress so much as a team!
