I tape myself as much as I can. It has helped me immensely seeing what I can do, and I LOVE editing clips of myself to music and my friends too just for kicks. It's like being the star in a music video even though you're totally not...LOL

I can never tape myself riding.. so I have someone else do it. So I don't get a lot of videos often but the ones I do get, have really helped me figure things out.

I highly recommend it

I love when I can have someone video my practice or actual runs at shows. It really helps me see what I'm doing wrong or what I can improve on.. It just has a lot of good uses and can be really helpful..

Just adding on here, have you ever seen those really good dressage barns and the second half of the walls are ALL mirrors? Same basic concept!

I get vids of myself pretty often - about once a month my hubby will come to a lesson and tape me. And my brother recorded all my classes at the show...he's now my official show videographer lol!

I do it all the time, but had to experiment with the right place to put the camera so it captures all the action instead of us going in and out of frame. It's a great way to guage your progress and lack thereof.

You just have to see your distance...you don't have to like it.

Since I got a new camcorder & a tripod, I might try it when the snow clears up, having a silly snowstorm right now!

When I first saw this thread I thought you meant taping yourself to the saddle!
