IMO the problem with those signs is that they specifically state PROFESSIONAL, what if you're just a private landowner? You're not covered if you're not sponsoring and event on your land. That's why I go with the release of liability too, just to err on the side of caution.

Dreamcatcher I have spent my adult life counseling others.
If I did not believe in forgiveness then I could not look my clients in the face and advise them to do just that.
I have seen some very dramatic changes in a lot of people. It is what motivates me to continue in my chosen profession.
Forgiveness has nothing to do with the person being forgiven. It is about healing and moving on.
I still care about this young lady and pray that she learns fast that such behavior will not benefit either her or her son.
They have enough stacked against them.
She is very intelligent and could be a model with her exotic looks and beauty.
It is tragic that such a young life with so much promise is headed down a path of self destruction.
For generations my family has worked to ensure the next generations success.
I will not tolerate any threat to my daughters or my brothers childrens inheritance. That I will defend until my last breath. Shalom

Under the American system of modern law, nothing is as simple as it seems.

part of Indiana's law (http://www.animallaw.info/statutes/s...4_31_5_1.htm):

"(b) Section 1 of this chapter does not prevent or limit the liability of an equine activity sponsor or an equine professional: (1) who:
(A) provided equipment or tack that was faulty and that caused the injury; and
(B) knew or should have known that the equipment or tack was faulty;
(2) who provided the equine and failed to make reasonable and prudent efforts based on the participant's representations of the participant's ability to:
(A) determine the ability of the participant to engage safely in the equine activity; and
(B) determine the ability of the participant to safely manage the particular equine;"

Look at that second section. Failed to make reasonable and prudent efforts. What is reasonable and prudent? Depends on the judge. If it depends on the judge, you can be sued. If you can be sued, then even winning can cost you thousands in legal fees. And if the judge sides with the plaintiff, then the equine liability law no longer applies to your court case.

Donald,

This is a two edged sword, one must have pity on her child, but.... this is also an excuse some of society uses to Take Advantage of the System and have the Government take care of them.

News Car, section 8, welfare, food stamps???

No DL, wonder if she had insurance, new clothes, fancy jewelry, money to party, etc, etc.

This " Someones owes me a living" crap has to stop, I am sure someone would take care of her Baby, Harsh.... but the baby needs to go to a decent home and trash like this needs to go live under a Bridge and quit stealing from hard working people in society!

Donald, can you be traced? Google yourself, can this come back to you? Just be careful what you say.

Alex, years ago I worked for Child Protective Services. I have testified in court many times involving child custody cases.
I have received death threats, a dog of mine shot, pictures of my cars, houses, and daughters school.
I am protected. I have nothing to fear from this young lady. Shalom

LOL! Donald, I said you were too kind, not stupid. I agree that to counsel forgiveness you must be able first to forgive. And I agree that everything has been stacked against her and she's wasting everything. And it is a pity. I also forgive a snake (snake being a metaphor) that has bitten me right before I cut its head off. I do not pick up the snake and try to understand it. I totally agree with her never setting foot on your property again. You can put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig. Leopards don't change their spots...etc, etc.

Dreamcatcher I do not think you were implying that I am stupid or gullible.
I was not offended in the least.
I got a PM from another member warning me about someone having access to this thread.
first I have not stated anything other than fact.
I have disclosed no names.
After the threats from my time at CPS I do not post pictures , use the internet, pay bills on line, and other things to maintain my privacy.
I will never post lots of pictures and no links with my horses registration numbers, or pedigree information. Never use my professional title or full name.
If someone is smart enough to find me still they are to determined to be stopped by anything less than the secret service. LOL Shalom

Good for you...Many of those people who are in the same situation as she was expect everything handed to them.

Ugh people like that make my blood boil.
Again, good for you. I'm glad she won't be bothering you any time soon.
