Honestly? I would consider a different boarding situation. IMO, horses should be in only when necessary. I think six days per week is difficult with a full time job, kids or no kids. Even four days can be challenging.
I have a three year old son and work at least ten hour days. I'm also a worship team leader at church and used to pay golf and softball, but when I got back into horses my other hobbies got pushed to the back burner.
Right now I ride 2 times per week. I ride on my own on Wed nights and a lesson Sunday. I will likely rude more the fall, but I don't think it's fair to dump all the chores on my husband. Plus, I also want to spend time with him and my son. Hubby also has hobbies of his own. We try to arrange things so both of us get to enjoy an equal amount of the things we enjoy and still have family time.
When my son is older and if he's interested in horses, maybe we can ride together. Posted via Mobile Device
