Tribute.

This may not be the appropriate place, but I cant find a better one. Mods feel free to move if necessary.
Whether you are a cowboy in Texas, a buckaroo in the Great basin, or a Vaquero in California, we all know pushing horns aint exactly a lot of fun. So cowboys (vaqueros, and buckaroos) sing. It doesnt matter if its Don Edwards singing a song that is 120 years old or it is Dave Stamey singing something he wrote last week. These songs gave rise to a small but vibrant genre of music known as (simply enough) cowboy music.
Today that community lost a powerful member, and my personal friend Guy Gillette. Guy taught me how to trail cows without stressing them, how to rope, and most importantly only to sing when there was no one else around and I was on a trusted horse. Vaya Con Dios my friend, I'll see you on the other side.

Guy is playing the bones. For more on Guy and Pipp, check out the webb page for their live music venue www.campstreetcafe.com

I enjoyed the song.

I'm glad you got to know him. He sounds like one of the good ones. Darn hard to lose a friend like that.

So sorry for the loss of your friend. Losses like this remind me of the song "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes", I worry that we will lose our western heritage in these days of "technology".
