My trailer is insulated. As long as I keep all the vents and doors open for air flow, it's cooler in there than outside.

You just have to see your distance...you don't have to like it.

Stephanie Abrahms on TWC explained it. The speed of the sun's rays entering an enclosed and windowed space--a car, for instance--are a different speed than the rays after entering, therefore it is more difficult for them to escape, therefore they and the heat are trapped.
This doesn't happen when your trailer is open. =D
