What bit is this?

I know this isnt a good picture and I apologize. I know alot of people know just about every and any bit though, so I was hoping somebody could tell me what kind of bit this is? A friend used it on my horse one time and I liked it, but I'm not sure what it is...I don't know all the bits because I am still new to owning my own. Any help is appreciated.

It looks to me like a Tom Thumb. Honestly, it's really not that great of a bit; it's unbalanced and can be very harsh in uneducated hands. There is a reason why it's one of the cheapest bits on the market.

Is this what it looks like?

That may be it. She used it when I first got her so I had no idea. But now that you've said it may be that bit I don't want any part of it lol. I've heard so many bad things about this bit

Did she give you a reason to why she was using it? I don't like them.

A jr cowhorse bit is a great alternative to a Tom Thumb, if you wanted something similar, but functioning and not totally confusing to the horse.

Tom thumbs all need to be thrown into a vat and melted down and made into something else.

That's just her every day bit I guess. This was back in November, so she may use something different. Idk I was just curious about what it may be...like i said i'm fairly new and it seemed to be ok that day but she didn't have it on long
