Crystallize - Lindsey Stirling (Dubstep Violin Original Song) - YouTube

hits me like a ton of bricks. takes me on the whole journey of my drug issues, anxiety issues, finding and bonding with my Anne, how shes been my rock, pretty much my only constant for the last three and a half years. listening to it and thinking about it all... and im crying, lol.

another one.......for my boy toby

not sure why, but when working with him this is what goes through my head. hes always questioning, always wary, but he tries too. he loves people, he just doesnt trust us, and i dont blame him! some days hes willing and brave, and other days he just doesnt feel up to it. we've made huge steps, to the point where now, after three months of owning him, he has taken a bit four times without rearing or fighting!

This is my song for my horse...

I sing it to him all the time and it always makes him calm and happy :) If he and I could sing it karaoke, we would.

"I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
So I drew a new face and I laughed."

That is SO my horse. He always checks himself out in the mirrors in the indoor arena.

"A rider who would trade partnership for obedience
will have to settle for neither."

I don't have a song for my horse but my daughter's horse LOVES Frank Sinatra. For real. We joke he is really Frank Sinatra reincarnated. His favorite song is "Strangers in the Night." He will put his ears forward, relax his eyes, seems to just totally love it. Cracks me up.

There are different songs I will relate to different horses or the mood I am in, but this was pretty much my theme song for my second Arabian.

Never Let Me Down Again

I'm taking a ride
With my best friend
I hope he never lets me down again
He knows where he's taking me
Taking me where I want to be
I'm taking a ride
With my best friend

We're flying high
We're watching the world pass us by
Never want to come down
Never want to put my feet back down
On the ground

I'm taking a ride
With my best friend
I hope he never lets me down again
Promises me I'm as safe as houses
As long as I remember who's wearing the trousers
I hope he never lets me down again

Never let me down

See the stars they're shining bright
Everything's alright tonight

And Where the Streets Have No Name by U2........the ultimate trail riding song!

I can just see a horse galloping to the intro music. And the lyrics sorta fit too.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happyyyyy when skies are grey
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away.

He loves it. All ears listening on the trails.

I lost my heart horse, Sparky, two and a half years ago. If I could pick a song for him now, it would be Storm by Lifehouse. His death made a huge impact on my life and not a day goes by that I don't think of him and miss him.

Bach's cello suites when we're feeling classy, the classic rock station when we're not! I won't link to those because if you don't know at least some classic rock shame on you! jk
Other than that I would say "Home" by Philip Phillips because it always reminds me that where my horses are is my home.
The other would have to be:
this version because I'm a nut for instrumental :P
Funny thing is is that I had brought my cello to the barn (long story had to find a way to practice! haha) and our gelding who's spooky came right up and laid down by me while I was playing and just stared at me for the longest time like he was getting a free concert. Whenever I'm around him I think he like's the sound/feel of classical or instrumental. My mare's more game for more modern music! haha
ETA: I forgot to link to this because I think that this is music for an epic ride haha:
