Some of you have called the second item a cooler, and some have called it a fly sheet. Are these two terms interchangeable? Or are they different things?

They ate different. It is a fly sheet I believe. It looks see through. Coolers are made to wick away moisture, fly sheets keep the flys from biting the horse.

Fly sheets are mesh and coolers are usually cotton. And yes they are horse sized :)

Horses are scared of two things... Things that move and things that don't.

OP, this is what the sheet looks like when it is on the horse. Maybe you have seen this before at farms when weather is cooler?
