Your parents may be amazing, but you are as well for recognizing it. I'm sure the pride goes full circle

Thanks for sharing

Aside from my family, friends, teachers and animals. I'm incredibly thankful for being able to ride again. After being told for months that I would never ride again or be able to be around horses I'm back in the saddle, I'm so thankful that I was given this back. It honestly feels like in getting this back I've been given a new pair of legs and more mobility than I've had in a while.

I'm also thankful for my incredible mare who I've had the privilege to spend my entire horse career so far with. She's taught me everything I know and kept me out of trouble more than a few times.

And my trainer. Without her guidance and sometimes scary threats I would probably never have gotten back on a horse (or at least not as quick as I did). Without her practically kidnapping me and taking me out to her barn every chance she got I would have wasted away. She's taught me so much over the years that I've been her student and she's given me the best advice I ever could get: "Suck it up. Where there's a will there's a way, and I didn't teach you to give in to anything." She taught me to tussle with the biggest meanest horses and win, taught me to be patient and understanding, when to quit or push more, how to bring a life into the world and how to say goodbye to one. When I fall she dusts me off and under penalty of death orders me to get back on the horse and doesn't lay blame or chastise me for any rider/horse error because crap happens. She also taught me the golden rule which is that no horse in need is denied anything because someone can't pay.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! :)

I am thankful for my older sister who has always believed in me. My family has never been into horses but she encouraged me to learn all that I can and if horses makes "me" happy get them. She always says that you only have 1 life to live so you need to be happy living it.

I'm thankful for everyone here. I don't know very much about horses, but I can come here and learn a lot from everyone here just by reading everyone's posts. I don't post on here very often, but I do appreciate reading everyone else posts. I learn what not to do by reading about others mistakes. This also helps me to learn to correct my own. After being here a few months I'm confident applying some of the techniques that I learn here with my own horses. I'm thankful that I know I can come here and rely on all of you, being part of a group of people that is always willing to share their knowledge when someone need help.

had an awesome ride today! after a long time of being fearful, since a fall in June, I am getting what little mojo I had, back again (yeah me!)
So, I am thankful to have another ride on Z and for the courage to try again.

I am thankful for my family, warts and all!

I am thankful for:
  • All the prayers that were said for both my mother and brother over the past number of weeks... Yeah, they worked!
  • The brave men and women of our military.
  • My husband for introducing me to the world of horses.

I am thankful for my mom, who is such an amazing person inside-and out, I can talk about anything with her and know that she won't judge me, will support and listen to me whenever I feel I need to confide in someone. She is also a brave woman, as she raised me alone and has kept the food on the table, a roof over my head, paid for my trainings - all without the help of dad or anyone else. She has often sacrificed herself in order for me to have riding lessons. I'm so thankful for her, so so much.

I'm thankful for my ability to draw, this provides me a backup plan for the future if I'm in need of money. I'm grateful for my boyfriend, who is the best person on earth, caring, funny and totally weird just like me :) among all the people in the world, I thank fate that I met my soulmate so early and have the privilege to share my world with his.

And, I am grateful for my horse. I wouldn't be the same without her. She is truly my best friend and great companion.

Oh wow, I'm getting teary.. I guess the next step would be to actually tell the subjects how grateful I am for them :)

I am so thankful for all the great things going on in my life right now. Our "new" house is becoming a home, the new horses are settling in nicely, & their "issues" can be worked out so that they are good riding, using horses. They are learning to trust & know that they are safe here, and the food will keep on coming. Life is good & now I pray for good health so I can keep on enjoying it.

I am also thankful for HF-a place where we can get answers for many problems-not all horse-related.
