It sounds more like a rider problem than a stud problem. I have no problem riding around studs, if people want to bring their studs on the trails, to shows, what have you. HOWEVER, horses are horses, both studs AND mares are full of hormones and while an experienced rider might be able to handle a mares reaction to a stud (or a studs reaction to a mare) I wouldn't bank on an inexperienced rider being able to ride through the situation. For that reason, regardless of how well behaved the stud is, I'd be a bit leery about bringing inexperienced riders on that kind of ride. It certainly isn't a testament to a bad stud / bad mare, but behaviours that need to be corrected and riders who may not know HOW to apply those corrections.
