I started when I was 17. I could drive myself to the barn, and my mom decided that if at 17 I still wanted to ride, I wasn't gonna grow out of it and started buying me riding lessons.

Help me horse forum! You're my only hope!

I started my first lessons at 10 or 11, rode til I was 14, got my own horse but couldn't find a good trainer so took a break from lessons, horse died, parents sent me to horse camp anyway, came back with new horse, moved, found dressage trainer, took lessons on and off through highschool, moved out on my own and couldn't afford to ride for 3 years, now I'm taking lessons again at 20. :)

Fifty. That is 5-0...

OK, I did a little riding in my teens, but very little. None at all from 25-50.

I started riding when i was 4 - I went to the only stables who would accept a student that young. I spent the next 3 years walking and trotting without stirrups around an unheated ring with 10 other horses. I moved to a jumping barn at 7, and rode there for 5 years. at 12, my family moved out to the country, and i moved barns. I rode for 2 years a barn 15 min away, I bought my first horse, and moved with my trainer to a racing stables, I stayed there for 3 months and moved to my current stables. There's my riding career up to date =)

Not me, I started last year, when I was `16. Which is still young, but compared to the average of everyone else here.

Does before I was born count? I've been "riding" my entire life. Had 4 yrs of hunter lessons from 8-12 yrs old and the rest of the time I've been lucky enough to be in a family that has horses.

I took about a 5 yr hiatus from riding when I went to college it was a combination of old horses, away at college, and a curiousity if I could actually be happy without having them be a huge part of my life. I restarted shortly before I bought Soda, but I'd known long before then that I'd have a horse of my own again.

I was 5, my sister got bored of her shetland pony jasper so my dad let me have him. The village i used to live in when i was little was out in the country and very quiet so i was allowed to parade him up and down the village myself. we never had a saddle for him either or a bridle, so i guess it wasn't proper riding, more playing. (I hope that made sense lol )
