I just had my mare given to me, 3 weeks ago. We were in a convenience store, and the clerk ask us if we knew anyone who might want a mare who was in foal, for free. She was less than a mile away, so we went and looked, and we took her. She was very thin, but is improving everyday.

I found Indie on Atlantic Rider Classifieds.

I actually passed by her ad multitude of times, but was skeptical about purchasing a horse with little under-saddle work. She had been on the track until the age of seven and used as a broodmare up until spring 2012.

After having no luck, I figured that since she fit most of my requirements (Thoroughbred mare, 16hh+) that she deserved a chance. A month later, I rushed to the barn after school to find her in the stall... second on the left.

Looking back, I believe it was fate and I was so blessed to have her.

Well my dad bought a horse buggie.. and hiis friend gave him a great place to sell them , which happened to be selling horses the same day ( buggies, driving horses, and saddle horses)

My dad decided just to watch ( as his friend was the guy talking really fast lol selling the horses).. and some girl kept bidding on this horse ( poncho) despite the fact no one else was bidding on him.. so the guy was like girl.. no one else is bidding.. and she was waving at her friend the whole time LOL...

anyways, no one was bidding on Poncho.. so my dad bought him for 500$.. even though we lived in town at the time...

the next day he ended up buying sailor.. a percheron.paint gelding

WHicchh LEADS TO SUNNY!!... a year later.. we decided to Send sailor back to that sale.. and there was Sunny.. a Greenie.. a little 3 year old..

My dad was like NO WAY hes to small.. and I looked at my mom.. and she was like.. not for me.. I wanna learn to ride..<< said to my dad.. and he bought him for 1500$... and told me

" If your mom doesn't ride him once a day.. were selling him"

three years later.. my mom rode him once.. LOL:)

I found my Lipizzan mare on Dream Horse one day. Just decided what was available around me that I couldn't possibly afford. There was Tatiana's ad right there, and she was a steal of a deal! And even though I *shouldn't* have bought another horse right then, I had her two days later.
I found my wonderfully patient mule mare through The Back Country Horsemen chapter I belong to.

I bought my horse from a trainer. He buys just broke horses or horses that haven't been ridden in years and further prepares them for a career in pleasure riding and trail riding. You may get a recommendation for a local trainer who can point you to good horses.

I found Candy on dreamhorse. I drove almost a thousand miles round trip up to Oregon to look at one horse and down ti central California for another horse. My home was right in between the two towns but they were 500 miles away from eachother one way. The morning we were driving up unsuccessful from central California I found Candy's ad on dreamhorse and checked her out and brought her home a month later.

A friend saw Casey's ad at a feed store, and the owner was my friends friends friend.

I checked HorseClicks.com every day for something new, and one day I broadened my search on there to find Psychs ad. He was a steal, an I love him dearly.

That's the kind of thing my DH is afraid will happen every time he catches me looking at horse ads online
