you can also check at local race tracks. My sister-in-law's show horse came straight from the track. She paid for him, and then he ran his last race, got 2nd, and then got loaded straight into the trailer, he never made it back to his stall after the race. It was really good for us to get him right from there because we could see how he acted a little bit more, and take him home and work with him. he is just scared of being in indoor rings with other horses. we think he was abused, and so he is scared indoors because it is confining, and he could easily jump any outdoor ring rail. so I would suggest to go out to a track and see which horses are for sale... it might just turn up a horse for you!

If you tell me exactly what you're looking for I can find it for you - I know a lot of horses who came off the track and are now retired, trainer wanting to find them new homes. Varies in age and price. Of course only sound ones and ranging in age from 3-6.
