I hauled out and rode today and that is huge. This lesson was cancelled twice for flu, me once, her once, my bad back, bad weather, broken down truck, then horse having loading issues.

Today we got there, (Ignoring the severe weather warnings) adit was totally kick *** AWESOME, I'm still smiling 4 hours later, despite nearly losing the rig in the ditch on the way home

Today the doldrums are over, and I am going to be doing more.

but maybe NOT this coming week, where winchills are going to be back down to -20 to -30*F think I'll just concentrate on getting stuff ready for the tack sale

I've been getting in my lessons, so at least I've been riding. I've hopped on Leah and ridden her around the driveway, so she remembers what to do. And, Donald is finally at a weight where I can ride him, so yesterday a neighbour's daughter checked him for me, and I rode him for the first time .

Today Donald got lunged.

The bad news is that my well pump went out and I don't have running water at the moment. Oh well, comes with living in the country.

I'll join it always rains here in the winter and spring. It'll get sunny one day but before the ground can dry out its raining again!

I figure it's still not as bad as the poor folks who go through the hurricanes and wind up not having power/water for months.

But what irks me is that because I live in Washington State there's plenty of water around--just not in my house!

I do have enough for the horses for the next few days, and my neighbour has offered me the use of her hose if necessary LOL.

But I am right there empathizing with you!

Well that makes me feel a little better, our deep well has given up again, so we are back on the shallow, it is not the nicest water in the world, but at least it is water.

UPDATE:
I went out and worked my gray horse that I bought a year ago and rode maybe a dozen times....last time was June.
Husband shamed me the other day. He was on the phone with a friend of his that has some decent horses, friend wanted to know if we wanted to buy a High Brow Cat bred colt, I perked my ears. Husband tells his friend, "wife would love a High Brow Cat colt, BUT she has a 7 yr. old "colt" with a dozen rides she bought last year and another 7 yr.old that is just now going into the two-rein, so, no High Brow Cat colt for us."
*wife slinks off to catch and ride horses*....LOL..whatever, what do husbands know!

I DON'T LEAD 'EM AND FEED 'EM, I RIDE 'EM AND SLIDE 'EM.

I've been pretty good this winter. I decided to not ride any outside horses so I could get something done with my own. I've not rode as much as I should have though, between flu, sick kid, just general worn out (sick of being sick...have to love having a kiddo in elementary school ugh) I haven't been consistent. I've probably averaged 3 rides a week on them but the plan was a solid 6 a week all winter. I'm soooo sick of looking at the arena walls, can't wait for spring to get here so I can get outside!

CC, I'll take the HBC colt you're after if you want to send him to me I'll ride him until you get something done with the others.

No kicks needed here!

Hubby kicked my tail outside today and we started our roundpen. Dang if that isn't a lot of work. But it got almost half done!
