Would a burro be good company for a single horse?

Well, the 7 year old "filly" (sp?) is still on the other side of the fence and doing well but we're sure she'd like company other than jack rabbits and cottontails hopping by. The "owner" talks about putting a stallion in with her but we want to nix that for several reasons and we can probably convince him not to as we are the primary caretakers. Would a burro be a good choice?

Yes. Burros are a type of equid, so she'd be very happy with one as a companion. Heck, some horses do well with goats or sheep.

They would be just fine. Companions don't even really need to be related species. We have a mare that befriended our goat despite the other horses near. My gelding even likes to hang out with our cats and dogs.

No, I don't like plaid-- oh, you think that's weird because I am a "farmer", and farmers wear plaid-- well if you looked at my little dirt patch I call a garden, you would think twice
