I guess I would say exclude it. On the one hand, if people are going to not give you business do you want to be doing business with them? On the other hand, its a business and religion has no place in business. I guess I would say exclude it because its a business. In your private life you religion is a great thing, but it could give potential business clients the wrong impression. I have no problem with religious groups; however, if I see a quote out of Leviticus I would second guess my decision to do business with them. Why risk loosing out on business. If they are really against doing business with a proud Jewish person they will find out soon enough.

Do you want to stay true to yourself or do you want to market your horse? If you think the word Shalom will turn someone away from your page thus causing you probable financial loss are you okay with that? If using Shalom means more to you than that, keep using it. I have no idea how certain religious groups feel about the word but to put it context to something that would offend me to my core (I don't know if Shalom has that effect on anyone?), like say
for instance a person was marketing something I was totally interested in and they used an expression to promote, hmmmm got to think of something repugnant to me....okay got it, a phrase to indicate they are pedophiles, forget it, I would move on. Bad example sorry but it totally offends me, not much else does to any degree.

Redpony I am not trying to become a millionaire in anything. Just retire to a life of comfort surrounded by horses.
I owe no one a thin dime. All the rental homes, land I now live on and the family farm are free and clear of any debt.
So I can afford to spend some money and believe me there is no faster way to spend your retirement funds than raising horses. But at least it is fun. LOL
Arabian racing is affordable and still small enough to have fun and gain entry without spending milliions to get in the door. Shalom

Believe me, there is nothing like the feeling of watching your horse come down the stretch ahead of the rest!! But, yeah, to become a millionaire in horse start with 2 million, lol!

Honestly, I feel like Shalom is the same thing as the Hawaiians saying Aloha. It's a greeting or a parting phrase as simple as that. Unless you preface it with something religious, or have it start some religious verse or something, I don't see why you shouldn't use it. Just posting something, or responding to something and having Shalom in the "signature" I think is fine. I'm Christian, my husband is not, but he has no issues when Christian friends and family say "God bless", or something similar. That being said, people get offended by the smallest things, and if you are truly worried about losing customers, then I wouldn't use it, otherwise, that ONE person you may lose because they get offended, doesn't warrant you not using Shalom.

Well, you put the word "shalom" in the registered name of one of your babies, and then end each post with "home of Shalom". Kidding.

I would not use it on the FB page just to ensure the focus remains on the breeding and heritage of your horses, not your own.

There is just as much horse sense as ever, but the horses have most of it.
