The joys of training (pictures!)

Don't you just love when everything starts to come together?! I started my boy under saddle in May. I've taken my time with his training only cause my work schedule has been so hectic. My boy only has around 25 rides on him and were able to do walk trot transitions and circles and changing directions (both trot and walk). There are some rides he acts like a complete school pony!

These little moments of improvements are what I live for! Seeing how everything is starting to click and he's enjoying the work really puts a big smile on my face! Seeing the amount of confidence he has gained from when I bought him to now is astounding. He's a completely different horse!

What I love even more is that I'm already getting roundness through his back. Of course he starts to back off when he does it, but that's going to take time obviously!

Anyways I just had to brag about my boy. He makes me so proud! And he's really making training super enjoyable!

The pictures are from the past 2 rides! Sorry if they are not the greatest quality.. They are taken from a phone!

I almost think his back looks best in this picture:

Compared to this one where his back dips down:

I know you want that lower neck, but in my opinion (and I might be completely wrong) you shouldn't fuss so much with his headset as with obtaining the uphill look in the first one I mentioned.

**I am not a professional, so I might be completely off base here.

I really like him, he looks like a real gem.

The right neck position comes from energy moving the horse forward from the hind end. Once your horse is moving forward and your hand creates a place for him to land....(many trainers I have worked with call this a box)...your horse has to work inside the box you create. It will come with time, just be sure he is moving honestly forward.
