Hi there,
I am looking into buying a horse that I have been co-boarding for a few months now. The owners told me to make an offer so I wanted some extra opinions on how much you think she is worth.
About the horse:
-mare
-thoroughbred
-11 years old
- goes walk trot canter
- collected and extended trot
- still has trouble picking up to correct canter lead
-sometimes bucks at the canter
-she has good pedigree
Look at the market in your area. Especially for OTTB's. Some areas, like where I am where there is a track that closes down in the winter-they are really cheap.
depending on conformation, chrome, attitude, 800-2000. A project that had a horse difficult personality, or major vices, conformational defects, etc, would be close to the $800-$1000 mark. one that is sound, sane, honest, gorgeous and/or has the potential to be beginner friendly, would be around or even above the $2000 mark.
Thanks! I'm very excited! I want to make sure I have everything arranged before I buy her of course =)
