Looking For A Horse

Hey there, I've been looking around for horses for sale, but it's kind of hard to find horses with the right criteria. Or a decent website. (Equinenow, Dreamhorse, Facebook)
My grandparents would end up purchasing the horse, but they don't ride so by default the horse would mostly be ridden by me.
I'm looking for a horse below at least 1500 dollars. We have four geldings and it would be easier to get my grandparents to agree if its a gelding. But a mare can be persuaded if its all i can find.
If anyone knows anyone who has a horse for sale in MN in the Litchfield and St. Cloud vicinity range please update me please. And does anyone have any other places I can look online for one?

What else are you looking for besides gelding below $1500?

What are your plans/goals for the horse? Age range? Height range? Skill Level/Discipline?

What do you want to do with the horse?
Size?
Age?
Breed or color preferences?
What level of rider are you and be honest so you not get hurt being over-horsed...
Able to trailer, cross-tie, be clipped?
Shod or barefoot?
Registered or not....

You need to give those here more wanted/needed details than "gelding under $1500"...
There are hundreds of those out there...
...

The worst day is instantly better when shared with my horse.....

Hi! Fun to see someone from my area! We're up by Paynesville so pretty close!

There's a lot of good Facebook groups with horses for sale if you do facebook. Horses for sale in MN, Minnesota Horses, etc. If you do a search you'll come up with tons, I recommend the groups with the largest amount of members.

We've also found most of our horses on Craigslist. You have to be picky because there's some bad ones out there but you can find some gems too!

Got it.
1. Taller than a pony
2. Younger than 13 but older than 3 preferably
3. Western gaming but also trails
4. Barefoot
5. No breed or color preference but I don't really like saddlebreds or fox fritters no gaited horses really. And Arabians are a no for my family.
6. Basic training, has to load and in hand leading plus riding experience
7. I consider myself a junior rider. I've gone through quite a lot of horse troubles of being bucked off, dirty stopped, a whole lot of others tricks and working with other horses. But I'm still learning.

I would try St. Cloud and Southeast MN Craigslist. You'll find tons of Quarter Horses there which sounds like what you're looking for. Luckily you're in Quarter Horse country so you shouldn't have any issues other than they might be over budget (I personally love gaited horses/Arabs/Arab X so they're harder to find but CHEAP!)

I know people have suggested Dream Horse/Equine Now/Etc but I will tell you right now people in our area RARELY use those sites. Most of the time people post on Craigslist or Facebook in our area.

You can probably find a deal this time of year since people don't want to keep unwanted horses over winter but make sure you have enough hay if you plan to buy before spring. There's a shortage in the area and I know a lot of people having issues right now.
