My Horse Memories

Ever since I was a little girl all I could think about was horses. Horses were a huge impact on my life and it all begins in 2004(year I was born) For my 3rd birthday me and my family went up to the local riding club near us. And gosh, I remember getting on a horse named Rebel with one of my moms friends. He was sweet QH bay with a star on his forehead. And that day I knew, I wanted to be around horses more and more. On my 6th birthday, I got one of the greatest gifts, A horse, Not just any horse. This horse was a 20 year old chestnut mare who was named sassy. This horse was one of my greatest friends and she would trot around me when we play, and she would come to me every time i go out in the pasture and say hello. One day i was riding her and the worst happened she spooked to a bird and she took off with me while i was riding bareback. I fell off screaming for help, My mom and my nana ran to me and they called the rescue. When I got to the hospital I was rushed into a room with IVs in my arm ( I didn't like needles AT ALL) And soon as I started to relax, the nurse came in and did xrays of my right knee (boy was that uncomfortable). Few hours pass, the doctor comes in and says i have a bruised knee and a sprained ankle. I thanks god nothing was broken. I was in cruches in a few days and when I started feeling better. I went out to see Sassy and she seen me and galloped to me. I was so happy to see her. I lost my riding confidence because I thought it might happen again. Time goes by and she sadly passes away in 2018 of August A month before my birthday. I will never ever forget her. In 2019, I met an amazing mare, Stocky, sassy, and sweet. She does the same exact things ole Sassy may did , Tequila would run to me, follow me anywhere, and became my bestest friend. Im excited for this journey to continue. Soon Tequila will come home with me and finally be mine. Horses have taught me to never give up after a fall. If you fall, get back up and start again.
Just one more memory I would like to share(not horse related)
April 2018 , I lost my brother to a shooting, and I miss him so much. Even though he was young, he now gets to meet all of his idols and heaven and watch over me and my family. I miss you Corey You were the best brother ever

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. It must be an unimaginably difficult thing to deal with. I'm glad you have horses in your life to help with all that.
