Is that Isabeau in the photo with LoriF and Novia? I just love the arch of the necks and their lovely faces and broad chests. They look wonderful... and so spirited!

I love those poodles in one of your old camping photos! Can you tell me more about them? I had a huge black poodle like that once when I was a kid, for two years before we moved to Australia. They're wonderful dogs, adventurous, love water... I love the look of those two in the picture!

PS: I think I worked out whose they are!

Oh, wow, that book is exactly the kind of novel I like to read. I can order it from the library, and no matter where it is in the US, they will send it to Branford, Florida. I can't wait to order it. Thanks for telling me about it! Bri

PS You are not a nerd, not at all. Nerds are folks who when you see them coming, you think, oh no. I'm sure NO ONE thinks that about you! Especially not us Horse Forum folks.

I will attend to your nerd question when it's had time to brew a bit! Meanwhile though, if you're after a good novel, this will help with the topic - and I think you'd enjoy it, even though the heroine is a nerd, like Brett and me...

You can get these second-hand online - I think they're currently out of print. Sent one to a friend for under $5 including postage just before Christmas...

By all means, he can copy it and do anything he wants with it. I am thrilled somebody likes it!!! I hope he has fun with it.

I'm glad Perfect Gentleman is working out, more or less. Somebody once chided me because I ride so much on inexpensive horses. They said, "Why don't you get something WORTH riding?" I said that expensive horses still dump over their water buckets, snatch at grass, and rub off their halters just like $300 horses.

    Question and update.

A Perfect Gentleman is doing well. He can be a ROYAL pain as he is not so much a perfect gentleman but he does have manners when it comes to humans handling him so he does redeem himself. My friend has started jumping him even though she had not planned to. He acts all indignant jumping her level as he eyes the higher jumps and instead of running out will run over to the side ad take the higher. Funny but not really.

My son has started art this year and saw a picture you have on your journal of a knight in chain mail jumping his charger. He would like permission to copy it for a project. I think they have to turn in their inspiration so it would mean copying it off and pasting to the back of his project.

Hope all is well with you and yours! Have a great weekend!

I spend way too many hours riding the horses because it helps me so much. I don't have too much to say on Horse Forum because my rides are so unexciting. I have more than enough excitement (more like misery, but oh well) at home.

I love reading what you write. I so enjoy your enthusiasm and your many interests. I am so glad you are back on Horse Forum!

Things are rough around here, emotionally. My husband is not well, and being difficult, angry, and lashing out at the family. It is miserable for the kids and I worry about damaging them. I keep hoping they can learn resilience. They wish I would divorce him, or at least, separate. My concern is abandoning him because of his bad health. I do not know how much longer he is going to live. I can't think that I would feel easy in my mind if I dumped him and a year or two later he died (which is quite possible, he has a myriad of health issues).

I often think of this Bible verse in 2nd Corinthians: "We are often troubled, but not crushed; sometimes in doubt, but never in despair. We have many enemies but are never without a friend, and though badly hurt at times, we are not destroyed."
