Rock my Heart

I found this on Netflix the other day - check it out if you (a) speak German or (b) don't mind the subtitles. It's about a teenage girl with a congenital heart defect who goes from "zero riding" to "winning an amateur horse flat race" in two months. Yes, when you look at it from a plausibility point-of-view, it deserves 2.5 stars (out of 10), but character- and acting-wise it's surprisingly well made.

Gonna check that out!

Hold on to what makes you happy! If it tries to buck you off, just hold on even tighter!

Will check it out. I have a heart kid so am interested to see how that aspect is portrayed in something fictional.

I quite like watching things in another language with subtitles. I have sensory sensitivities and I find that if I am reading subtitles and the spoken language is just like background noise that it makes for an overall more calm experience to watch. I liked Babylon Berlin, which is in German with subtitles.

Another good one is Wild Hearts Can't be Broken--about a girl who rides diving horses in the 1920's.

I watched this, typical "misunderstood teen tames unruly stallion and saves the farm" nonsense, but the horses and the scenery make it a nice show.

What, you've never seen a jockey win a race after losing a stirrup and use the rescue inhaler? Next you'll tell me there are no unicorns!

Ha, yes a lot of it is cringeworthy, but the photography of the horses is great.
