Wink Alright Everybody!

You have probably seen my past thread about getting a horse. Well I now have an opportunity to show I'm ready. My Aunt has a pony that I ride in shows, and I'm the only one who rides him. Before we had talked about me leasing him, and bringing him to Virginia. My instructor got very exited and went the extra mile and found someone who would share the lease with me. Currently, the pony and I compete in the Swja Pony Pleasure circuit. After the end of the circuit, we would buy him from her and half lease him to the girl who wanted to share the lease. This would avoid awkward questions about the leasing fees and such. My mother also sees it as costing less (My dad has completely zoned out at this point) And, it eliminates the problem of my brother, because he is getting older and he enjoys saying hi the pony, even though he has no interest in riding. I am not asking for advice, just letting people know I have found the pony, and now I need to wait for things to unwind as they will.

That's great! Sounds like a good way to share the financial burden.

So so exciting. I remember when I first got a horse as a kid and then again years later as an adult. It's very exciting and intimidating at the same time.

There will be only one of you for all time. Fearlessly be yourself.

You'll still have the up front purchase price but yes, with a half lease you'll share at least a portion of the monthly board. Just be clear upfront about what the lease covers. What happens if there is an an injury especially any injury that takes away riding time as she would be effected in that case. As a minor your parents will need to have a lease agreement drawn up and signed by the other girl's parents. They may want to talk to your Aunt if she leases any of hers or your instructor to come up with something fair and within reason for the lease agreement.

Some horse people change their horse, they change their tack and discipline, they change their instructor; they never change themselves.

Talking Eeeeee!!!

Costs have pretty much been figured out, we would pay $6,000 to buy him and half lease him out to someone, my friend whos been looking for someone to half-lease and BAM!!!

Sorry, this is just really exiting for me, even though its not gonna happen for a year.
