I agree that the small size is not a big deal, there are plenty of adults riding 14hh horses.
I am not very familiar with British riding ponies, but know the German version (German Riding pony) quite well. These ponies are bred to look and ride like "small sport horses", for junior riders who are aiming for competitive riding. So from my experience they can be somewhat more performance-oriented and a bit hotter than a steady Eddie beginner's horse. If I am completely off-base and things are different in Britain, Foxhunter or jaydee certainly know better than me.
So considering that your top priorities are calm and steady and your daughter rides Western disciplines, this pony probably wouldn't have been my first choice. That being said, of course all horses are individuals and this one might very well fit the bill.
