Bates Isabell ?

Hi guys,

I have been looking at different saddles lately and I’m really interested in the Bates Isabell. I have been working on dressage and have decided it’s an all-time passion and I want to pursue it. I know the saddle you get can depend on your horses back and needs, but I was wondering if anyone has/had tried this saddle and likes/dislikes it? I have had trouble finding reviews on this and am planning on finding one second-hand to save some money.

Know nothing about the saddle but found you the reviews you ask for...
There are many listings for the saddle, seems regular and another choice is with Cair panels"?"...
In any case...this site has reviews by actual people who ride/rode in the saddle...

All brands, makes and styles of English or western tack and strap goods are reviewed...
Hope it helps..

The worst day is instantly better when shared with my horse.....

It's a saddle you'd likely need to try for yourself.

I know plenty of people with them/had them, and it seems very much a love or hate type of saddle.
The cair also, is either a love or hate type of paneling. A lot of people have it removed and flocked as can't get it to fit horses right. Others seem to like it.

The biggest dislike I know of is the seat can tip a lot of people forward. Which again may be caused by it being tricky to fit some horses.

Saddle searching is tough, try as many as you can!

Are bates saddles related to wintec?

I have not had any luck with wintec saddles fitting any of my horses.

I just bought a tekna dressage saddle and i love it. It fits well and the material is fantastic. It is super gripy, much more than leather. It has a changeable gullet which i haven't touched, but is easy to change. The lady i bought it from showed me how to change them if needed.

My only complaint is the saddle feels tight in the front at the walk. At a trot or canter it feels great. My horses have huge trots, and this saddle makes me feel very secure.
