IMHO there are a lot of horses you will look ok on and can ride. But if you want to ride all day (trail or eventing for instance) you want something that will carry you Easily all day.

Someone suggested cob type, and that is a good option - welsh section D or friesian as an example. You could consider Percheron, or percheron X (thoroughbred or friesian). You don't have to have the tallest horse but you will probably find it more comfortable if your feet don't hang too far below the girth.

A couple of other breeds you could consider are Nonius (Hungarian origins-not sure if this is the same as hungarian sports horse) and Oldenburg.

Of course, in your search you could find a crossbred of unknown origin that just fits your needs perfectly. Good luck with finding the right buddy :)
