Dream came true!

So somebody asked me if I know of a person to help out at a Friesian stud nearby (literally 3km from my house). Since my husband and I decided that I would not return to work after my maternity leave (I am a teacher and the nearest school with a vacancy -we moved here 3 months ago- is really far from us) I thought why not me??? After all, I was a little worried about having only two small children as company..

Went to see the owner and manager of the stud and they are truly horsey people. And I got the job!!! I fell in love with the stallion, Mamba, at first sight! Since I have absolutely no experience in managing a stud, I will work mostly as a stable hand - mucking, feeding, grooming and exercising the horses. I do not mind to start at the bottom, at least I am working with Friesians and getting paid. I will work from 08:00 - 13:00 so I could still spend some quality time with my babies. Little one can go along so I could continue breastfeeding for as long as I want. There is a lady on the premises looking after the kids.

Who knows, maybe this is the first small step in realising my biggest dream - to start a riding school for children with special needs...

Anyway, just had to share!!!

I have met several studs at my trainer's ranch that are calmer than some geldings. That is until an in heat mare is in range. Even then the trainer can be riding the stud and still be able to control. And she is a small woman

Good for you! I'd love to see some pictures too.
