Everyday I'm novicing

Been lurking in these forums sucking up all your advice since I started riding, coming on for two years ago. People here have helped me improve no end so I thought I'd emerge and hopefully ask you guys for some critique later on

I always wanted to get into horses as a child but, being a townie (city slicker), I never had the chance! I have moved out of the city now and take riding lessons once a week. I'm lucky to have one horse (I guess you'd call it a lease?) to ride by myself and a supportive owner to guide me through 'owning' a horse.

Sam is a ~15hh Connemara cross (cross barrel I think). We use a Trekker treeless saddle, which took a lot of getting used to! It was like learning to ride all over again! I can only ride English although I really would love to have a go at Western one day!

I'm still trying to improve myself so I have a tonne of questions to ask later on ;D Here are some pictures!

(Just after I took him on last September)

(I know, bad horse, don't eat the grass in tack >_>)

Welcome! Don't be shy, if you have questions, ask away!

Did the treeless saddle come with the horse? Is that why you're riding him treeless?

Welcome to the forum Kaiit!!!

Sam is beautiful! Can't wait to hear more about both of you and your adventures.

I ride treeless too, a Barefoot, they do take some getting used too, lol

Yeah, his owner says it's best for him so I said I'd adapt! It's probably the biggest challenge I've faced while I've been riding.

I've been looking at brand new Barefoot saddles, they look really fancy I do have a total love/hate relationship with this saddle and I'll probably be asking loads of questions about them in the future!
