Finally! I can actually get some experience!

I have to share because I am so hyped!

For a while I've been trying to get some horse ownership experience so when I get my own I have a good foundation to work with. I've been trying stables but get worked like a dog and the atmosphere is incredibly snobby. Someone a quick walk from me has 4 horses they'd like help during their maternity leave in exchange for their brain and knowledge. I am not even going to ride; this is purely just focusing on behaviour on the ground, grooming, cleaning, health checking yada yada.

I'm visiting them on Sunday. No idea how things will go but it's as good as an opportunity I'm going to get so close. I was looking to pay to share a horse I was so desperate, instead I'll get access to FOUR and for a good cause!

When you're teamed up with the right person that can be a really good way to learn. Good luck and I hope it all works out!

R.I.P. JC 5/19/85 - 12/9/14. You made my life better.

Congratulations!!!!! I've been in that position and being able to be around horses when you don't have the chance to much is AWESOME! Keep us posted on how it goes! Do you know what kind of horses are they?

I'm glad you have an opportunity! Just make sure they aren't roping you into being a barn hand for free.
