I have been a long time "lurker" on this site, but have finally decided to become a member.
I am a married mother of two living in rural SW Colorado. I mainly trail ride, but chase cows when I can.
Growing up we always had cattle, so we always had horses. It would take to long to list the many horses I rode though the years and all the stories to go with them.
Needless to say I grew up riding western-cowboy style. Horses were not pets, they were partners.
We have since sold the cattle, but I still have a few horses. One is my old cowhorse I have had since I was fifteen. A flashy paint gelding that my dad bought for me (just because I wanted a paint-aren't daddys wonderfull!
) The horse is now 29 and very arthritic, but still going.
Next is Libby, a by tobiano paint mare 17 yrs old. A good girl that I have owned since she was a yearling. My kids ride her in the Jr Rodeos.
She and I have shared many
Lastly I have Diva, a 5 yr old black overo paint mare. I have taken on the challenge of breaking Diva myself- and what a challenge she can be at times. I believe that when we finally work though everything, and she "grows out" others, she is going to be the best horse I have ever had.
Well, that's me and my horses in a nutshell.
I look forward to being active on this forum.
