Hello from Ontario

I'm an adult rider who are riding around 4 years old but I stopped when I was pregnant with my daughter. I'm just back into riding last summer after 8 years of no riding. Last year I worked with a well known coach in my area taking lessons on her jumpers well as a friends hunter. The barn was a good drive from my home so I didn't ride over the winter, but now that we have good weather I've found the perfect part boarding situation on a horse that's only 10 minutes from my home. His owner is pregnant with her first child and has no time to ride. He's basically mind to do whatever is like with (her words).

He's a 9 year old Clydesdale x Canadian Horse who looks like a huge cob at 17.1 hands. She's had him 3 years and basically just poked around the arena but apparently he's trained to third level dressage. For the moment we're just working on flat work and building his muscle back. He very unfit and fat. I'm excited to have a horse to work with again and wanted to find a good community to share and learn from, apparently I joined a long time ago but never posted much.

Welcome!
What part of Ontario are you in?
I grew up in southern Ontario, on a tobacco farm near Tillsonburg.
my step dad had Percherons that we used in the tobacco fields, and I learned to ride on them.

I'm in the Niagara area, but my husband has family in Tillsonburg. We're usually out that way once a year for family reunion. It's a beautiful area!

I know the Niagara area well.
I had an uncle that lived in Niagara On the Lake, and spent some time in the summer there, with my cousin, during a short break from tobacco work
I went to Hamilton and District school on Medical technology, up on 'Hamilton mOuntain', LOL and did my practical lab experience at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, . Worked there for a short while, after graduating, then came out to work at the newly opened Foothills hospital in Calgary, intending to go back after a year
Well, 40 some odd years later, and I am still in Alberta !
I still have a brother in the Tillsonburg area, but my visits back have been infrequent since my parents died. It sure has changed, and now it is ginseng and vegetable gardening!
My brother comes out often though, and easier for him to get away, having no hroses, LOL He has a son that is an engineer in Calgary, and a daughter , married to someone doing his medical residency at Foothills

Hello from Southern Ont. I hope you have a grand time with your horse that you are riding.
Some of my first riding experiences were on farm work horses.

I actually grew up on the Hamilton Mountain. We moved there when I was about 5 and stay until I was 15.

I would love to visit Alberta one day. Not gonna lie, its mostly because of the tv show Heartland, and partly because of Spruce Meadows that I want to go there lol.

I'm originally from BC, its very beautiful out there. I still have a lot of family out there on the coast and down into Washington too. I used to spend my summer vacations out there as a child, I miss it very much.

I've got tons more pictures of Brego but sadly most of them are pretty dark because my cell phone doesn't take great photos and I'm usually done riding in the evenings lately.

Here are three more. The first is from a month ago when I started riding him, the second two are from a few weeks ago. I've been trying to get all his excessive hair under control so don't mind the poor scissoring job on his forelock... and mane, and tail and even feathers lol, he doesn't much like the trimmers so I'm stuck with scissors for now.
