The first time my mare moved around during mounting. She learned how to run backwards. From the middle of our arena to the the far corner. ( I had to cut her tail (2.5inches) so she wouldn't step on it if had to do again). She stands perfectly for mount and dismout now. Only had to do it 2x. Been 5 months now.

She used to gate pace. She'd "stalk" the gate. And chest bumb the gate and be screaming and want out of the arena when I cleaned her stall and attached paddock. I am currently fixing this right now. Have a stick and string whip I tied a Safeway bag on the end. She touches the gate I shake it.. (The gate bites back...). She is learning I said away from the gate and i mean it. she now goes all over the arena instead of just the gate. She's learning patience too. Il

It's all a process. And each time your horse (or any horse) does anything disrespectful you need to hop on your crazy train and make them think you control if they live or die. Some horses learn faster than others...
